πŸ‘‰ The beginning of a new year is the perfect time to reassess your plans, hopes and dreams - so I really hope you have a great goal in mind for yourself this year?

I used to plan to lose 10 pounds at the beginning of each new year, but then ended up putting more weight on!

It was a viscous cycleπŸŒ€ that was spiralling out of control.

I believed I could lose the weight, but somehow that confidence encouraged me to not worry about it 😁 (since I figured I could get rid of it whenever I wanted).

I got so used to gaining weight every year that I started to expect it, take it for granted and rationalize it as a natural part of growing older ⏳.

I told myself I was simply entering my Big Lebowski period πŸ—Ώ as a way of feeling better about it.

But with every weight increase I noticed, 😱 my self esteem decreased proportionately.

The problem wasn’t really my diet, even though there were things I ate that weren’t that great for me πŸͺ🍫🍿🍭🍩🧁🍨!

The problem was my MINDSET 🧠

As much as I tried to ignore the impact of my eating habits, I found it impossible not to confront the changes when I was forced to watch my fat self on screen a few years ago 🎬.

I’d just wrapped up shooting the content for my Winning Over Worry course: the ABC’s of Anxiety.

Having to watch myself on screen πŸ–₯ for hours on end during the editing process was kind of upsetting.

If I carried on increasing weight I could look forward to all kinds of health problems in my future - like knee problems 🦯🦽🦼, digestion problems (not to mention the increased risk of developing complications with Covid 🦠 these days!)

But the future isn’t carved in stone πŸ—Ώ- and when you become determined to succeed 🎯 - everything can change❗️

I got really clear πŸ‘“ on what was in it for me to lose the weight 🧩 and I started to prioritize being happy by being healthy, over being temporarily happy because of a fleeting mouthful of foodπŸ‘….

Within just a few weeks of me respecting my decision, the weights started melting off me ⛄️!

Hoping something happens and daydreaming 😻 about it, can make us feel better in our fantasies.

But if you really want to be successful at something this year πŸ†, making a solid plan 🎯 to accomplish it is going to make a big difference .

If you have not already done so, put aside a little time this week to seek some clarity πŸͺž about your repetitive thought habits and their consequences.

And then make a decision that you are going to update your thinking to better reflect the best version of yourself so you can begin living your best life πŸ₯‡.

Your MINDSET 🧠 is a habit of thinking.

Thankfully you cannot avoid changing.

❓The question is: Are you going to be in control of a change that you’ve decided for yourself… or is life going to make the decision for you❓
