Overwhelm and burning out are real risks you would be wise to avoid.
If you run out of steam or exhaust yourself before you succeed at the goal you’ve set yourself, it is going to be very far from satisfying.
Enthusiasm and motivation are great to tap into and propel yourself with, but a common mistake too many people make, is starting at a pace that they can’t sustain.
How many words can you type in two minutes?
Would you be prepared to keep up that pace for an entire work day?
Life (and the life of a business) is more of a marathon than it is a sprint.
No-one sprints at the start of a marathon with an expectation to sustain the fast pace they’ve set.
But sometimes we can be guilty of unconsciously overestimating ourselves with tasks and activities we cannot keep up with.
We wouldn’t intentionally overwhelm or overstretch ourselves, that would be outrageous!
No, this is more of an unconscious or subconscious act of self sabotage that we commit unintentionally (without malice aforethought).
Ever accidentally sabotaged yourself by being overenthusiastic?
How do you avoid setting yourself up to fail?
