👉I used to tell myself “I can’t quit my job”.
I felt sure about this.
The problem was, my job wasn’t in my best interests to keep.
I needed a better goal!
I’d developed a repetitive strain injury, making it agonizing to keep doing what I’d always done - over and over and over again (ouch!).
I was stuck in a painful loop and I could see 😟 no way out.
I lost hope, felt demotivated and demoralized, and I couldn’t imagine things getting better.
The more certain I was that things were not going to go well, the worse I felt and the worse things got!
Thankfully I had the good sense to seek psychological🧠 help back then.
Therapists and coaches are really good at questioning reality.
❓I got asked a lot of questions that really brought my self-limiting beliefs to the surface ✨.
☄️I discovered that with the right motivation I could do pretty much anything!
If you aren’t asking yourself questions regularly and patiently waiting for the answers, you may be missing out big-time!
I notice in my coaching work that a common habit people have, is to avoid any discomfort or dis-ease that comes from uncertainty, by shutting down their potential to discover a solution.
When you don’t know an answer, it’s often way better for you stay in confusion and uncertainty than to conclusively decide that there is no answer. But it is slightly more uncomfortable.
Knowing you can’t do something stops you from figuring out how you might be able to do it.
⏰ FOR EXAMPLE : Instead of telling yourself “I can’t wake up at 6 o’clock in the morning” - wonder: “What would it take for me to awaken at 6 AM?”.
Obviously this works for a lot more things than just what time you have a habit of waking up.
Whatever your immediate or ongoing goal🎯 for yourself is, self-posed questions are a great way of seeking new helpful answers (rather than confirming old unhelpful beliefs).
If you’re uncertain about some thing or you want to improve yourself in some way : Ask yourself a question about it, and keep asking that question regularly until you get an answer.
One of the best times of the day to ask yourself probing questions, is just before bed.
You can ask the question to yourself out loud, or write it down and read it before your head hits the pillow 🛏.
By the way you look just exponentially increased your chances of discovering an answer.
Do you believe every limitation you place on yourself, or are you brave enough to question your reality?
